Prophet Noah(as) according to Quran-1

Prophet Noah(as) is mentioned in Holy Quran in many verses and there is an entire sura dedicated to his life and his struggle to call his nation to the message of Allah(j.j).

Noah(as) is considered as the first of “Ulu’l Azm” prophets. This term is used to describe a prophet that shows “extra-effort” in terms of determination, endurance and patience in the struggle to invite people to the message of Allah(j.j). We have to note here that “all” prophets showed and carried out firm stance of tahweed, but many Islamic scholars agree that some prophets, based on Quranic evidence have this title of “ulu’l azm”, the greatness in determination.

Noah(as) is one of them and Sura Noah is the 71th sura in Quran and has been revealed in Mecca.  The nation that Naoh was sent to is the first nation that engaged themselves in rebellion against Allah(j.j) and celebrated idolatry and paganism.

They are also the first nation that faced an ultimate punishment after deliberately denying and mocking the invitation of Prophet Noah(as), no matter how “determined” he was in his “dawah”, his missionary work of pursuance.

As we all know, their ultimate punishment was being destroyed in a magnificently ruinous flood.

The nation was not only engulfed in paganism and idolatry, they also blindly followed their leaders, who used the “tool” of idolatry to established a reign of fascism.

Prophet Noah(as) really worked hard on his mission;

He said: “O my Lord! I have called to my People night and day:

But my call only increases (their) flight (from the Right). (Sura Noah 71/5-6)

He also sheds some light on his “dawah method”, which is sometimes carried out openly, sometimes in secrecy:

So I have called to them aloud;

Further I have spoken to them in public and secretly in private, (Sura Noah 71/8-9)

Prophet Noah(as) kept on his dawah firmly until he requested from Allah(j.j);

“O my Lord! They have disobeyed me, but they follow (men) whose wealth and children give them no increase but only Loss. (Sura Noah 71/21)

Here, he mentions the underlying mechanism of “a blind nation following and cheering for their leader when they use “idolatry” to impose a capitalist system upon the public.

Unfortunately, the same mechanism continues today.

Crowds blindly follow certain “man-made symbols” that only hypnotize them and give financial and social gain to the ones who designed those symbols in the first place.

Prophet Noah’s(as) quest is a prime example from the pages of human history that shows us the importance of “sticking firmly to dawah and tahweed”

We hope to cover life the Prophet Noah(as) in the future inshaAllah, not only because he is the first of Ulu’l Azm prophets but also general perception of him in theological history mostly focuses on historical events of “the ark, the flood and the animals on the ship” and similar happenings.

What is more important in our opinion is that his firm adherence to his “invitation to the message of Allah(j.j) no matter how hard the public tried to stop him.
